ST. LOUIS, July 7, 2011 -- The Fair Saint Louis Foundation today announced the move of its Celebrate Saint Louis Summer Concerts from the St. Louis riverfront to Soldiers' Memorial Military Museum and surrounding parks (streets will be blocked from Tucker to 14th and from Market to Pine). River levels are expected to remain at flood stage and due to safety measures taken for guests and the complex logistics for the events, the original location on Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard was determined to be unusable.
"As St. Louisans we are blessed with the great resource of our Mississippi River, yet have come to know the challenges it brings. We are equally fortunate to have such a majestic "back-up" location on and around the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum and are looking forward to two weekends of great music in the heart of downtown St. Louis," said AJ Chivetta, General Chairman, Fair Saint Louis.
The Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts Line-up includes:
- July 15 -- Bell Biv DeVoe (www.bellbivdevoe.com) -- featuring an exciting mix of R&B and Hip Hop.
- July 16 -- Gavin DeGraw (www.gavindegraw.com) -- the acclaimed American singer-songwriter and musician.
- July 22 -- Keb' Mo' (www.kebmo.com) -- and his delta blues will be right at home in St. Louis.
- July 23 -- Barenaked Ladies (www.barenakedladies.com) -- known for their fun-loving style of alternative rock.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. Opening bands will play at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. followed by the headlining acts at 9:15 p.m. -- all on the Budweiser Main Stage.
Security measures similar to Fair Saint Louis will be in place for the Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts. Everyone attending will need to pass through one of three security stations to gain access. The fewer items brought in (backpacks, large purses, bags, etc.), the quicker concert attendees will pass through; please plan accordingly. Attendees will be allowed to bring one individual serving plastic bottle through the gates as long as security personnel can ensure it does not contain alcohol. No coolers or large liquid containers will be allowed. Under no circumstances will glass bottles, aluminum bottles/cans or alcohol be allowed.
Salute to the 2011 Community Vendors
Given the emphasis on community involvement in Fair Saint Louis/Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts, we are proud to partner with many local not-for-profit organizations via the Fair Saint Louis Foundation's Community Vendor Program. As they did during the Fair, volunteers from these organizations will raise funds for their respective organizations by staffing the beverage booths during the Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts. The Fair Saint Louis Foundation salutes the 2011 Community Vendor organizations: Advent Episcopal Church, Casa De Salud, Delta Sigma Pi, Greater St. Louis Honor Flight, Hidden Valley Ski Patrol, Metro-East Paramedic Association, Missouri Speedskating Association, Sacred Heart Men's Club, St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus, The BackStoppers and Tower Grove East Neighborhood Charities.

For more than 30 years, the Fair Saint Louis Foundation has provided the organizational structure -- along with scores of volunteers -- to produce this very unique, free and family-focused event that is open to all. The Fair Saint Louis Foundation also depends on corporate partners and individual sponsors who come together each year to provide funding that allows the Fair and Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts to bring in some of the nation's most talented entertainers -- on the stage and in the air! Events of this size could likewise not be safely executed without the support of the City of St. Louis who provides public safety services and the National Park Service, who serves as host for Fair Saint Louis.
