Board Duties and Purpose
The CID intends to undertake certain improvements within the District, including, without limitation, property acquisition and site preparation, the elimination of blighted conditions including, without limitation, demolishing, removing and/or constructing buildings and other improvements to eliminate blight, the upgrading, installation, or relocation of public utilities/utility infrastructure, the re-surfacing, repair, replacement and/or construction of improvements to existing public parking facilities, traffic improvement, and related improvements and more fully described in Exhibit B to the CID Agreement (the “CID Projects”) and
WHEREAS, the City has approved the use of Tax Increment Financing in the area where the CID exists; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to enter into that certain Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (the “CID Agreement”) in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen hereby determines that the terms of the CID Agreement are acceptable and that the execution thereof, and deliverance and performance by the City and the CID of their respective obligations therein are in the best interests of the City and the health, safety, morale and welfare of its residents.
Member Requirements
Appointments require Board of Aldermen approval.The Mayor elects five (5) members.
