Southwest Airlines is expanding at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) with new non-stop service to Salt Lake City (SLC) beginning with a weekly Saturday flight on August 10, 2019. The service between STL and SLC will expand to a daily roundtrip flight on Oct 2, 2019.
In releasing its late fall schedule for 2019, Southwest also added additional frequencies to existing destinations from STL. Southwest is adding a daily flight for Saturdays and Sundays to Orlando, FL (MCO) and Tampa, FL (TPA) beginning Oct 2. St. Louis will also see an additional daily flight on Saturdays to Austin, TX beginning in October. That month, Southwest will also resume daily service to Cancun.
“We’re excited to see a new destination from Southwest Airlines this fall, as it will only improve the flight options for St. Louis passengers as well as the growing number of passengers on Southwest who connect through our airport,” said STL Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge.
With the October schedule, STL will see average daily departures on Southwest (M-F) grow to 118, an increase of five flights versus the year prior. Salt Lake City will be the 47th destination with daily service by Southwest when flights begin in August.
Delta Air Lines also serves St. Louis to Salt Lake City with an average of three daily flights. St. Louis airlines are currently operating 254 peak daily departures to 70 non-stop destinations based on March 2019 schedules.
