Two months after its first flights serving St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), Sun Country Airlines has announced it’s expanding service to one of its two debut markets.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota-based airline will go to four weekly non-stop flights, from the current two weekly flights, to Fort Myers, Florida (RSW) beginning February 14, 2019. The expanded schedule runs nearly two months through the first week of April. Sun Country currently flies Wednesdays and Saturdays. The additional flights will depart on Thursdays and Sundays. Airline and ticket information is available at www.suncountry.com.
Sun Country inaugurated service at STL on Oct 3 with the Fort Myers service. The other debut market began Nov 1 to Tampa, FL (TPA) with two flights per week.
“We’re excited that in such a short time, our region has shown great support for our newest airline,” said STL Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “There’s a strong market for Florida from St. Louis, especially in the popular spring months.”
Sun Country operates Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft and currently offers nearly 60 routes across the U.S.
STL airlines average more than 250 daily departures to 71 destinations. Through October 2018, STL has served 13,063,431 total passengers, up 6.1 percent over the first nine months of 2017. Get latest STL activity reports at www.flystl.com/reports.
