The St. Louis region is booming. With a high volume of major projects on the horizon, there are new contract opportunities for small and large businesses.

Business owners can get connected and learn about those projects at the 2019 Business Diversity Forum, Real Talk, Real Opportunities, Real Success at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL).  This free event takes place on Friday, April 26, 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Aero Event Space in Terminal 1.

This is STL’s fourth Business Diversity Forum, which is uniquely designed for minority and women-owned companies seeking business growth. The event draws major companies and prime contractors looking for new business partnerships and sub-contractors.

The keynote speaker will be Otis Williams, executive director for the St. Louis Development Corporation, who will share insight into opportunities with a number of major projects in the region, including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s $1.75 billion development project.

“This is a one-stop setting for large and small firms to gain a better understanding of upcoming contract opportunities in the region,” said Amber Gooding, Airport Assistant Director of Community Programs and Business Diversity Development at STL. “It’s also a great way to network with other participants along with the key decision makers from several of our regional agency partners.”

The Airport certifies minority and women-owned businesses to be eligible for participation in airport related business and construction contracts.

Airport staff will highlight upcoming opportunities in a round-table setting. Attendees can also connect and get leads from other agencies while learning about the certification process:

  • Contract Opportunities at Bi-State Development
  • Contract Opportunities with St. Louis County Government
  • Understanding Certification Goals and Good Faith Efforts
  • How to Do Business with the Missouri Department of Transportation
  • How to Do Business with the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District
  • How to Obtain Federal Contracts Through the SBA 8(a) Program
  • How to Finance Your Business

The forum opens with a networking breakfast and wraps up with an exhibit hall featuring businesses looking to partner on future projects. Validated complimentary parking will be available in the Terminal 1 Short Term Parking Garage.
