Last Friday, Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed hosted the Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Sorority at City Hall at their annual Delta Day event.
President Reed welcomed their alumnae members to the Board of Aldermen Meeting along with fellow member and City of St. Louis License Collector, Mavis Thompson.
Following the meeting, the members heard legislative updates and City government updates from Comptroller Darlene Green, Alderman Terry Kennedy, 18th ward, Mavis Thompson and President Reed.
The St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. was chartered on December 19, 1926 and committed to following the vision of their Founders to promote scholarship, sisterhood and service. With more than 90 years of service to the St. Louis community, the members of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. have implemented community-based programs through the sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness involvement, physical and mental health and political awareness and involvement.
