Missouri Governor Visits City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen

Today, the City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen returned back to session after a summer recess. The Board of Aldermen began their session with a few special guests - City of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Governor Mike Parson.
“Today is a historic day at the Board of Aldermen. We checked our records and this is the first time the Governor has visited these chambers,” said Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed.
The Governor joined Mayor Krewson and Mayor James on a tour throughout Missouri. Their first stop was in Kansas City. Today, the stop was in the City of St. Louis. Their next stop will be in southern Missouri.
The Governor spoke to the members of the Board of Aldermen about working together to make a change. He also spoke on workforce development and his focus on improving it within the State of Missouri.
The Board of Aldermen also welcomed the students from the City Garden Montessori School. They were at the Board of Aldermen to celebrate their 10 year anniversary and excellence in education. Alderwoman Marlene Davis, 19th ward, presented the group with a resolution.
The full Board of Aldermen will meet again on Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.
