National League of Cities President Honored by Board of Aldermen

President Lewis Reed and the City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen honored the President of the National League of Cities, Clarence Anthony, and presented him with a resolution at Friday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.

The National League of Cities is a resource and advocate for the nation's cities and their leaders. The National League of Cities (NLC) is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. Working in partnership with the 49 state municipal leagues, NLC serves as a resource to and an advocate for the more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents.

Clarence Anthony served as the Mayor of South Bay, Florida for 24 years. He is known as a creative and thoughtful leader in his community. He is considered an expert in citizen engagement and techniques that build a sense of community within cities. As the National League of Cities President, Clarence Anthony serves as the chief spokesperson of the oldest and largest organization of municipal officials in the United States.

“I look forward to continue working with Clarence and the National League of Cities. The work they do is transformational, and it will be a great asset for St. Louis,” said Reed.
