(St. Louis – October 3, 2018) Comptroller Darlene Green fully supports the plan to renovate and expand America’s Center, unveiled today by Explore St. Louis.
“The joint investment in America’s Center by St. Louis City and County means our region will continue being competitive in drawing national conventions,” said Comptroller Green. “That’s more visitors coming to St. Louis, spending their money in our community.”
Financing proposed for the plan will be paid for utilizing funds from an existing 3.5 percent hotel tax in both the city and the county.
“I commend Kitty Ratcliffe and the Explore St. Louis team for this exciting plan, and thank Mayor Krewson and County Executive Stenger for advancing the proposal.”
