Winter shelter and outreach operations are in effect for the City of St. Louis on Monday, January 14, 2019. Up to 70 cots are being made available tonight for additional homeless sheltering and support.

Exposure to cold can cause frostbite or hypothermia and can become life threatening. A wind chill of -20° F with light winds will cause frostbite in just 30 minutes.

Hypothermia is a condition brought on when the body temperature drops to less than 95°F, and it can kill. Please call 911 for persons in need of immediate medical attention.

Individuals or families who may need shelter should go the shuttle pick up location at 13th and Market streets. There will be a St. Louis Metro Warming Bus at this location from 5-7 p.m.

Staff and volunteers from Biddle Housing Opportunities Center, St. Patrick Center, Peter & Paul Community Services, Gateway 180, BJC Behavioral, Places for People, St. Louis City Continuum of Care, St. Louis County Continuum of Care, St. Louis Housing Helpline - United Way 211, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, St. Louis Winter Outreach Shelters, St. Louis Winter Outreach Teams, Transformation Christian Church and VA Street Outreach are working together to ensure that individuals and families experiencing homelessness are safe and out of the dangerous elements this winter.
