Mayor Slay Announces 2013 Holiday Card Contest
St. Louis children invited to submit a design to be used on Mayor’s holiday cards
This article is 11 years old. It was published on November 8, 2013.
Mayor Francis Slay has an extensive holiday card mailing list, and once again, he's asking St. Louis school kids to help make his cards the most unique!
City children ages 12 and under can show the Mayor their takes on the holiday spirit in the 2013 Mayor's Holiday Card Contest. The winning entry will be used as the cover art of the Mayor's 2013 holiday cards. Last year's winner was Kayla Lokeomanivong.
Submissions should be appropriate for all religions. Parents, teachers and caretakers should help kids capture the feeling of the holiday spirit in the City of St. Louis. Designs should be original, no larger than 8.5" x 11" and created with crayon, water colors, paints, pencil, ink, markers, or colored pencil so the winning art can be easily reproduced. Three-dimensional cards are cool but difficult to reproduce.
Artwork must be received in the Mayor's Office no later than Monday, December 2, 2013, for consideration in the contest. Entrants should include their name, address, phone number, school, grade and age.
The top 10 finalists, their families and teachers will be invited to attend a special ceremony in the Mayor's Office. Top entries will be on display in City Hall during the holiday season.
