Mayor Slay, City of St. Louis to Welcome Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, Germany

Mayor Francis Slay is proud to welcome the Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, Germany, Dr. Wolfgang Schuster to St. Louis on April 15 for a four-day visit. Mayor Francis Slay, County Executive Charlie Dooley, The World Trade Center and the St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities (SLSSC) Board will be formally welcoming the delegation at a reception at the Missouri History Museum on Friday, April 16th at 6:30 pm. Mayor Schuster will also throw out the first pitch at Saturday’s Cardinals game.

St. Louis and Stuttgart have been Sister Cities for fifty years, and I am excited to welcome Mayor Schuster to St. Louis,” said Mayor Slay. “Stuttgart and St. Louis share a long history of fostering friendships and exchanging ideas – and I expect this trip will help nurture our Sister City relationship.”

“The purpose of Sister Cities is far more than cultural exchanges and visits back and forth,” Tim Nowak, director of the World Trade Center-St. Louis commented, “It’s more about development, sharing of knowledge, technology and economic opportunity.”

Last February, Stuttgart climate change and environmental expert Dr. Ulrich Reuter was impressed by the number of green projects in the region. During the opening reception on April 16, a climate exchange agreement between St. Louis and Stuttgart will be signed by both mayors.
