The Community Development Administration is responsible for overseeing and directing public policy, federal programs, and regulations research for urban redevelopment programs. CDA has a staff of approximately 30 people, responsible for approximately $50 million in federally funded programs.

Alana Green, the City’s current CDA executive director, will step down November 9 and will transition to the St. Louis Housing Authority to serve as executive director.

“Alana has done a terrific job promoting growth in our city’s neighborhoods. I am grateful for her service to the City of St. Louis, and I look forward to working closely with her in her new role,” Mayor Krewson said.

During her tenure at CDA, she oversaw significant changes to the City’s Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Grant programs. She was also responsible for enhancing capacity-building programs for nonprofit organizations and developers.

Green also served on the board for the Washington, D.C. based National Community Development Association and started Community Development Week to promote successful HUD programs in the City. Green has a law degree with a concentration in Urban Development, Land Use and Environmental Law and a Masters Degree in Public Administration, both from St. Louis University.

A search will begin immediately to find an executive director to lead the CDA.
