ST. LOUIS -- The City of St. Louis Board of Aldermen voted to approve Board Bill 219FS, the City's portion of the financing agreement for a new NFL stadium on the North Riverfront, contingent upon the NFL and a team agreeing to nearly half a billion dollar investment and a lease to cover the length of the bond.
Mayor Francis Slay, who will sign the bill on Monday, issued the following statement:
"Today's action by the Board of Aldermen completes the City's part on this project. Its passage does not mean there will be a stadium. It does mean that the City of St. Louis will not be the reason why there isn't one."
