Past Land Use
Overview of the City's Research of Environmentally-relevant Historic Land Use, often referred to as an "Environmental Database"
Research Resources
Research of properties having an environmentally-relevant past land use was derived from the following sources:
- Business Directories dating back to 1820 [from the Missouri Historical Society Library]
- Yellow Pages dating back to 1900 [from the Missouri Historical Society Library]
- Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps circa 1916 and circa 1950 [from the Main Public Library]
- Information contained in the other Volumes of the Environmental Review Record
The purpose of this historic land use research is to provide the Environmental Reviewer a valid Due Diligence tool, and a reason for requiring further investigating a proposed project site, or sites.
