Civilian Oversight Board Expiring of Board Members' Terms
Pursuant to City Ordinance 69984, we are notifying you of expiration of the terms of four (4) members of the Civilian Oversight Board on December 31, 2019.
These members and their respective districts are as follows:
- District 1 (Aldermanic Wards 2, 3, 21, 27) – Ciera Simril
- District 3 (Aldermanic Wards 1, 4, 22, 26) – David Bell
- District 5 (Aldermanic Wards 11, 12, 13, 16) – Bradley Arteaga
- District 7 (Aldermanic Wards 10, 23, 24, 28) – Stephen Rovak, Chair
City Ordinance 66984 requires the Mayor to deliver the names of nominees for the respective Board positions within thirty (30) days of a vacancy. Aldermen from wards within the above districts may submit names to you for service on this Board from the districts in which they reside.
The Mayor is free to nominate any persons who reside within the boundaries of the districts, regardless of whether or not their names were put forward by an Alderperson.
The Mayor may also re-appoint any member currently serving for one additional term. An informal survey of the above-named members indicated each would be willing to serve such term if asked.
