Conceal and Carry Firearm Permit

The City of St. Louis Sheriff's Office accepts applications for permits to carry concealed weapons.

In-person

1. Apply in person at the Sheriff's Office at:

2. Bring the following personal information:

• Name
• Address residing in the City of St. Louis
• Date of Birth
• Place of Birth
• Telephone Number
• Gender
• Proof of City of St. Louis residency (utility bill, personal property tax receipt, or voter ID card)

First Time Application Fee

• $100.00

Renewal Fee

• The renewal fee is $50.00 if permit has not expired. If permit has expired an additional late fee of $10.00 per month for each month it is expired for up to six(6) months.

Lost or Stolen Permit

• There is a $10.00 processing fee for replacing a lost or stolen permit, and the Sheriff shall reissue a new concealed carry permit within (3) days of notification.

• Once your application is reviewed, you will then be notified by mail.

• Your Approval or Denial letter will be stamped on the outside of the envelope "For Confidential Addressee Only".

Permit Renewal

A Concealed Carry Permit shall be good for (5) five years from date of issue and shall be renewed for qualified applicants upon receipt of the properly completed renewal application and the required renewal fee.

The renewal fee is $50.00 if permit has not expired. If permit has expired an additional late fee of $10.00 per month for each month it is expired for up to six(6) months.

Any person who has been issued a concealed carry permit prior to August 28, 2013, who fails to renew his/her application within a 6 month period must reapply for a new concealed permit and pay the fee for a new application.

Permit Name and Address Change

CCW holders must notify current Sheriff of a name change within 30 days,and there is a $10.00 fee associated with obtaining a corrected concealed carry permit. As of October 10, 2014 there is no requirement to notify our department of an address change within the same county and there is no fee collected for an address change within the same county.

Lost or Stolen Permits

If your permit is lost or stolen, you must notify the sheriff with in 7 days after actual knowledge of the loss or theft permit (endorsement). There is a $10.00 processing fee for replacing a lost or stolen permit, and the Sheriff shall reissue a new concealed carry permit within (3) days of notification.
