Title: Director Financial Empowerment 

FLSA STATUS:   Full - Time, Exempt

SALARY RANGE:   $75,000 - $80,000

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Employee will work with the Treasurer to promote financial literary within the St. Louis Community. Employees in this classification will be responsible for developing and implementing vision, goals and objectives of the Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE). Responsibilities include cultivating, building, and growing annual corporate giving and sponsorships programs, developing strategies and fundraising plans for deepening engagement with new and existing corporate partners and sponsors.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years’ experience in social sciences, business administration, banking services or related field. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing financial education required. Non-profit management experience in community outreach, research, grant writing or volunteer work required. Fundraising experience preferred. Prior experience maintaining a referral network & pipeline of leads. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to master other software programs; ability to utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities. Knowledge of financial literacy and counseling. Demonstrated ability to direct and lead the planning, implementation, integration and evaluation of programs and policies to empower the underserved to make better financial decisions. Demonstrated track record of success in employing continuous process improvement to ensure resources are aligned with organization and project mission. Ability to partner with key stake holders and build relationships with other agencies, State and local government, nonprofit and private sector organizations, and the public to achieve common goals. Supervisory experience in effectively managing a diverse team; strong leadership and management skills. Responsive to the protocols, challenges, and political sensitivities of operating within a high-profile city program. Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting clients to build greater self-sufficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Works closely with the Treasurer to develop and implement vision, goals and objectives that align with Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) strategic objectives. Direct and manage all OFE programs. Align needed policies, procedures and guidelines for conducting programs to ensure effective decisions making and efficient operations. Coordinate and lead efforts to raise visibility of financial empowerment; identify areas of expansion and improvement. Establish plans for accomplishments of assigned responsibilities; ensure work is accomplished in accordance with established and emerging policy and practice. Work with executive management team to plan, establish, direct, coordinate and evaluate the work of the OFE. Establish clear fundraising strategy to support the development of the OFE. Identify potential funding sources and write grant proposals to solicit program donations; solicit in-kind donations. Prepare grant applications and fundraising proposals under the Assistant Treasurer’s supervision. Track and manage OFE budgets including fundraising, grants and expenditures. Expand the OFE footprint nurture, engage, and grow relationships to build a fresh pipeline of targeted prospects and referral partners. Cultivate long-term professional referral channels to generate warm leads and continuously fill the OFE pipeline of referral business partners. Coordinate resources and manage the campaigns. Collaborate with management to achieve monthly targets with close attention to increasing leads and a strategic pipeline that will lead to increased partnerships.
