TITLE: Garage - Operations Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt
SALARY: Starting at $15.00 hourly
SHIFT: Monday - Friday; any hours between 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. Must be able to work some nights, weekends and Holidays.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, supervises the day-to-day operations of the parking garage and events.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent strongly preferred. Two years of parking facility attendant experience with lead/crew chief experience. One year of supervisory experience in parking industry preferred. Experience with a multipurpose parking facility working in all areas of a parking operations facility. Strong public relations ability. Troubleshooting methods and good mechanical ability. Strong verbal and written communication skills, both orally and in writing to all levels of management. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive. Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Basic computer skills in the parking revenue control system. Strong leadership and management skills. Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to details. Must be comfortable working with the public. Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to comply with the physical requirements of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Open and/or close facility in accordance with standard operating procedures. Operate and maintain revenue control equipment. Resolve customer service issues or questions as needed. Validate guest parking garage tickets. Balance cash drawer at the end of shift; Reconcile cashier daily receipts and make deposits.
Work as a parking attendant or events worker when needed. Ensures staff adheres to rules of conduct, policies and procedures. Assists in supervision and training staff on day-to-day activities. Promotes good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer service with a friendly demeanor and willingness to help at all times. Assist Garage Manager and other staff as requested. Assist with traffic control as needed. Monitor appearance and cleanliness of facility. Perform routine maintenance on equipment (i.e. clear paper jams, reset gates when jammed). Identify and report damaged or unsafe condition within facility.
Assist in supervision of the events daily cashiering activities of parking structures. Ensures and maintains compliance with departmental procedures. Assists with supervision of events daily cashiering activities within the parking structures, including cash and/or credit card receipts, and maintenance of departmental records; supervision of hourly employees (flaggers, attendants, cashiers) by maintaining daily attendance and ensuring company standard compliance. Directly supervises a wide range of events related customer relations, parking services, traffic control and events personnel. Performs all other duties requested by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be required to sit for extended periods of time in a small booth. Employees may be required to walk throughout the garage or around parking lot. Employees in this position may be required to periodically work outdoors exposed to all the different weather conditions. Position will require considerable use of arms and legs as well as the whole body. The employee is regularly exposed to fume and airborne particle and loud prolonged noise levels and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Must be able to lift, carry and or push articles weighing up to 20 lbs.
