TITLE: Systems Administrator

REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology

General Summary

Employees in this classification are responsible for performing duties that ensure optimum functioning of technology systems utilized by the Treasurer’s Office. Contributes to development and implementation of cost-effective technology systems.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred, or closely related field of study. Minimum of three years professional experience performing systems analyst or similar duties. Solid background in a wide variety of technology systems and software applications. PC proficient, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365. Must possess excellent work management, communications, and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify, organize, and prioritize complex issues and solutions, with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to make effective, independent decisions. Ability to operate personal vehicle for business and possess a current valid driver’s license and insurance.

Essential Job Functions

Participates in, and supports, capacity planning and development of long-term strategic plans for technology systems and software applications. Implements desktop and server systems. Manages operating systems and end user software. Administers, manages, and monitors security systems, such as firewalls, VPN, and intrusion detection. Administers and monitors user network setup and access. Collects user information for analysis, evaluation, and troubleshooting system problems and issues. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices. Interacts with other departments regarding technology systems and software applications.
