40-Year Service Pin Presentations

Two long-time City employees recognized for their service.

During a brief ceremony in his office last month, Mayor Francis G. Slay presented 40-year service pins to two long-time City employees.

Melinda Coburn began her career with the City with an internship with Parks & Recreation while in college (1967-68).  In June 1971 she was hired by the Food Stamp office that was under the City's management at the time.  During her tenure with the City, Coburn has also served in the Children's Study Home, in Medical Records and the Business Office at Homer G. Phillips Hospital and at Medium Security Institution before joining the Department of Human Services where she presently works in the Youth & Family Division.

Marlene Cento 40-year service pin with Ingram, Brown, Cento, Hamm, Mayor Slay 121611 

Marlene Cento, Accountant II at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, began her career with the City in 1971.  She has served in several departments, promoting up the ranks to the position she currently holds.  Pictured above (from L-R) are: Barbara Ingram, Lambert Airport; Henrietta Brown, Lambert Airport; Marlene Cento, 40-year service pin recipient; Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge and Mayor Francis G.
