This article is 13 years old. It was published on July 1, 2011.
New NameAfter 29 years of cleaning and greening St. Louis, Operation Brightside will now be known as Brightside St. Louis. Our new logo, created by Gorilla76, displays our signature daffodil along with a greener Brightside. While our name may be changing, our dedication to our mission of a cleaner, greener St. Louis remains as strong as ever. |
New Demonstration and Learning Center
Thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps and lots of generous donors, Brightside's Demonstration and Learning Center is now open to the public. In fact, the first Neighbors Naturescaping workshop was held in the garden last Saturday and the next workshop will be Saturday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend as Mark Grueber, Urban Forester with the Missouri Department of Conservation, leads the discussion.
See Kristen Cornett's story on KMOV.com about Brightside's new garden and the Marines who helped build it.

As additional money is raised, Brightside will be able to complete Phase II of the garden which will include interpretive signage and shade structures built as giant Purple Coneflowers.
