Emergency Alert Function on New Website

City employees may check new website in cases of snow and inclement weather for City operations information.

When the National Weather Service predicted six to seven inches of snowfall in the St. Louis area starting the evening of Jan. 19, the City was able to put to good use the "emergency alert" system on its new website. This new function allows City officials to provide useful information in case of weather-related closures or other emergencies. When activated, a red "Emergency Alert" notice will appear at the top of every webpage on http://stlouis-mo.gov. The red bar will contain a link to more information.

City employees who checked the website early on the morning of Jan. 20 saw the red emergency alert bar at the top of the screen informing them that City offices would have a late start time of 10 a.m. that day.
