Free Income Tax Preparation This Month
Qualifying City Employees are invited

Comptroller Darlene Green is sponsoring free tax preparations and banking consultations for low-to-moderate earners, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, from 4:30 p.m. –8:30 p.m. on two evenings, Wed., Feb. 10 and Wed., Feb. 17. In addition to IRS-certified tax preparers being on hand to provide free tax assistance, 1st Financial representatives will offer "second chance" opportunities for opening free savings and checking accounts, and provide consultations on other banking services.
All 2015 Federal and State (includes Illinois and other states) returns will be electronically filed. Preparers will help taxpayers apply for all tax credits for which they qualify, including earned income tax credits (EITC) and "circuit breaker" tax credits for seniors and those with disabilities.
Qualifying City employees are invited and should bring all W-2's, and 1099's; valid ID; social security cards or taxpayer identification numbers for all family members; and other materials.
