During a brief ceremony at City Hall last month, Mayor Francis G. Slay presented a 40-year service pin to Joanna Stoverink of the Comptroller's Office Asset Management Section. Stoverink began her career with the City on Jan. 24, 1972. She began working with the City for the Manpower Planning Office as a Clerk Typist during the term of Mayor Alfonso J. Cervantes. The program is now called S.L.A.T.E. Later, at the Kiel Opera House, she worked as a Clerk typist over contracts, events and scheduling before joining the Comptroller's Office as a Clerk Typist II under Deputy Comptroller John Zakibe.
On hand to join Mayor Slay in congratulating Stoverink were John Stoverink, Joanna's husband (l) and Jim Garavaglia of the Comptroller's Office.
Seen here with Mayor Slay, Jim Garavaglia and Joanna are (from left) co-workers Beverly Fitzsimmons, Michelle Graham and Victoria Wakeland.
"Congratulations, Joanna!"
