During a brief ceremony at City Hall last month, Mayor Lyda Krewson presented Kathy Doerr with a 40-year service pin.
Doerr began her career with the City's Information Technology Department after graduating from college, and she has promoted up through the ranks in that department to her current position of Systems Development Manager.
Doerr pointed out that the technology has changed drastically over time. When she began, they had to keypunch cards. Now you can do practically anything with a phone. Doerr is inspired by her colleagues in the many City departments.
In her spare time, Doerr volunteers as a math tutor, a robotics coach, a Shakespeare producer, a church musician, and dishwasher at a homeless kitchen.
Congratulations, Kathy, on your achievement!
