Reparations Fund
Summary
This Board Bill pertains to the creation of two funds to assist in the City’s efforts to support African Americans who have been victims of the effects of slavery. It authorizes the Comptroller to establish "The Reparations Fund" to help provide needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all African American local residents as of the effective date of this ordinance, and establish "The Midwest Land Development fund" to help provide additional dollars for economic development at approved local city blocks. It contains and Severability Clause.
