The Geospatial Protection and Enhancement Special Use District (“GPE-SUD”)
Summary
Board Bill would establish The Geospatial Protection and Enhancement Special Use District (“GPE-SUD”) for approximately a 958 acre site surrounding and within 2500 feet of the perimeter of the Next NGA West Campus located at the Northeast corner of Jefferson Avenue and Cass Avenue. The Special Use District Overlay zoning district, as permitted in the enabling Ordinance 66941, would prohibit certain uses that would otherwise be allowed in the underlying zoning districts “A” Single-Family Dwelling District, “B” Two-Family Dwelling District, “C” Multiple-Family Dwelling District, “D” Multiple-Family Dwelling District, “E” Multiple-Family Dwelling District, “F” Neighborhood Commercial District, “G” Local Commercial and Office District, “H” Area Commercial District, “J” Industrial District, and “K” Unrestricted District. The GPE-SUD overlay zoning district would prohibit certain uses that would, if allowed to exist within the proposed GPE-SUD area, impede communications, endanger NGA operations and pose a threat to NGA’s mission.
