Hiring Retired Police Officers
Summary
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as traffic safety is a most pressing issue in the City of St. Louis, that the Public Safety Committee of this Honorable Board of Aldermen convene to meet with, representatives of Police Retirement System, the Police, and Personnel to inquire if there is a way to modify any requirements of the Police Retirement System, State Law requirements, or any other impediments so as to allow retired police officers to work part time as police in the Traffic Division. Thus, allowing the City Police to start hiring retired police officers for part time traffic officers so as to increase traffic officers presence on the Streets of St. Louis.
