Board Members

Emily Andrews

Emily Andrews, LEED AP O+M, is the Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council- Missouri Gateway Chapter. She was hired as Chapter Coordinator, their first full-time staff person, in January 2006 and was promoted to Executive Director in August 2008.

Emily oversees the day-to-day operations of the Chapter, including strategic planning, educational programming, community outreach, state & local advocacy, volunteer management, marketing & communications, and fundraising.  

Emily has worked for environmental non-profits her entire career. She currently serves on the Forest Park Advisory Board and the City of St. Louis’ Clean Energy Development Board, and spends spare time cooking, gardening, and camping as often as possible.

Rev. Rodrick Burton

Rev. Rodrick K. Burton is the senior pastor of New Northside Missionary Baptist Church and graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary.

He is a member of seven clergy associations around the St. Louis metropolitan area. During his tenure at New Northside he has become an advocate for environmental justice and clean energy.

He is a member of the Sierra Club of Eastern Missouri. Burton believes that intentionality, collaboration, and community led accountability will result in sustainable energy use that benefits all St. Louisans.

Jenn DeRose

Jenn DeRose is Program Manager of the Green Dining Alliance, a program of St. Louis Earth Day. The GDA works with restaurants to assess and improve their sustainable practices in all areas of operation, including energy efficiency, reducing waste, improving sourcing for local, responsibly raised foods, and more.

DeRose is a freelance writer for the Riverfront Times, a Green Schools Mentor, a student of Sustainability at Washington University, and a LEED GA. She is a proud member of the St. Louis Food Policy Coalition and US Green Building Council. DeRose enjoys hiking, camping, and biking around the St. Louis area and beyond.

Her goals for the board are to ensure that 100% renewable energy in St. Louis will have equitable results, lowering air quality risks for residents in high-vulnerability areas, creating jobs, and improving efficiency for businesses and residents, especially in low-income areas.

Andy Knott

Andy Knott is a Senior Campaign Representative for the Sierra Club.  He has worked in the areas of environmental protection and energy policy for 33 years in non-profit, state and tribal agencies in Missouri, Michigan and Indiana.  He currently coordinates the Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign in several Midwest states, and also works with the Club’s Ready for 100 and Clean Transportation for All campaigns.

Andy is excited that the City of St. Louis is a leader in the nation and Midwest in sustainability, climate action and clean energy.  His goals for serving on the Clean Energy Advisory Board include ensuring that a broad and diverse set of stakeholders is engaged in planning for St. Louis to reach 100% clean energy by 2035, and results in strong commitments from all sectors of the community in meeting that goal.   

Bruce Morrison

Bruce A. Morrison is General Counsel with Great Rivers Environmental Law Center in St. Louis and Chair of the Environmental Justice Committee of the Missouri State Conference of the National Association for The Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).  

His goal for the Board is to ensure that people of color and low income persons who live within the City of St. Louis have access to clean, affordable, renewable energy as well as access to the good paying jobs which will be created by the green energy economy.

Reagan Nelson

Ms. Nelson’s recent work over the last seven years has been focusing on bridging the gap for children with asthma to get the resources they need to manage their disease at the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis Chapter as Program Director.  

Ms. Nelson is one of less than 100 Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C) in the state of Missouri and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry along with her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville focusing on nonprofit management.

Prior to her work at AAFA-STL, she was in development for Teach For America in St. Louis.  Ms. Nelson is active in the community serving on the Gateway Men’s Chorus’ board of directors and was a Class 37 member of Focus St. Louis’ Leadership St. Louis program.

Rajiv Ravulapati

City Energy Project Technical Advisor

As Government Services Analyst for the City's Building Division, I oversee the implementation, compliance and enforcement of the City's Building Energy Awareness ordinance (#70474). I have worked in the energy efficiency and clean energy industry for nearly 10 years in various roles: organizer, lobbyist, media spokesman, and analyst. I am a proud Chicago native who has learned to admire St. Louis over the last four years living here. As a part of this committee, my greatest hope is that by transitioning St. Louis to 100% renewable energy, we can create and equitable economy for all St. Louisians, especially our neglected and climate at-risk communities.

Dan Siegel

Dan Siegel is the Director of Renewable Energy Business Development for U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, a St. Louis-headquartered subsidiary of U.S. Bank.

In his role, Dan leads the bank’s originations of solar and wind investment opportunities and has been responsible for the deployment of capital to support hundreds of renewable energy projects across the country.

He has lived in St. Louis since 1999, currently residing in the Shaw neighborhood, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Washington University in St. Louis.

He welcomes the opportunity to serve on the Board and excited to use his professional experience to help affect positive environmental and health outcomes for all residents.

Phil Valko

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Sustainability, Washington University in St. Louis

I enjoy working collaboratively with people who think differently than me to solve tough problems. My passion and my work is to improve the health and well-being of people and the natural systems we rely on in an equitable manner.

As Assistant Vice Chancellor for Sustainability at Washington University in St. Louis, I collaborate with senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students to incorporate and implement sustainable practices into the university’s strategic planning, operations, and resource management. Since joining the University in 2011, I have helped develop dozens of energy efficiency projects, solar projects, and LEED certified buildings along with many talented colleagues. I look forward to working with the Clean Energy Advisory Board to help the City achieve both near-term and longer-term clean energy goals. I am also actively engaged with OneSTL’s work and serve as the co-chair of the Energy & Emissions committee.
