Assessing Personal Property Tax
Personal property taxes are levied annually against tangible personal property and due upon receipt of the tax bill, but no later than December 31 each year.
The Assessment lists are mailed by the Assessor's Office in January of each year.
Declarations are due by April 1st of every year. If April 1st is a Saturday or Sunday, then the due date will be the next business day. Penalties apply if lists are turned in late.
The Personal Property Taxes are mailed by the Collector of Revenue's Office in November and are due no later than December 31 of each year.

Assessment Rate
Example: $15,000 market value / 3 = $5,000 assessed value
Vehicle values are based on the average trade-in value as published by the National Automobile Dealers Association (RSMo 137.115.9).
Personal Property Tax Declaration
The declaration form is due by April 1st.
If you fail to file your declaration form with the Assessor's Office or the form is filed late, you will be assessed a 10% penalty.
