(ST. LOUIS—October 3, 2019) City of St. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green applauds today’s approval of a $5 million supplemental appropriation for the violence prevention alternative program Cure Violence.
“Today’s vote at the Board of Estimate and Apportionment is a positive step forward for the City of St. Louis,” said Comptroller Green. “The ‘public health approach’ to violence reduction taken by Cure Violence works in concert with other efforts and is showing results in other cities. I applaud that we are appropriating funds for its implementation here for three years.”
Previously, on September 18 the Board of Estimate and Apportionment approved a fiscal year 2020 intradepartmental transfer of $1.5 million for violence prevention at the request of Comptroller Green.
