A member who is considering retirement should be prepared emotionally, psychologically and financially. It is never too early to start thinking about retirement. The earlier one prepares for retirement the better chance of assuring that financial obligations are met after retirement begins.
When preparing to retire be sure to check all benefits available including Social Security. Benefits from the Retirement System and Social Security will be the total retirement income from employment with an Employer of the System.
