Mayor Tishaura O. Jones Hosts Second Community Town Hall, Listens to Resident Feedback on $250 Million Remaining Funding from American Rescue Plan

Today, Mayor Tishaura O. Jones hosted the second of two community town halls, welcoming City of St. Louis residents to give their feedback on how to invest the next installment of $250 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The City expects to receive the funds in late May or early June. The full town hall can be watched below or on the City’s YouTube page.

“We’ve already used American Rescue Plan funds to help thousands of families put food on the table, connect youth to free Metrolink transit, and make sure residents can keep their homes,” said Mayor Tishaura Jones. “I appreciate the hundreds of St. Louisans who came out to our town halls to make their voices heard on how to use the remaining $250 million to make our city stronger and safer.”

In the past two months, Mayor Jones’ administration has organized a series of roundtable discussions to hear from community stakeholders, as well as two town hall style community listening sessions. The online and printed survey has surpassed 4,500 submissions to date and will close May 20. Following its closure, the City will analyze the feedback it has received from all of these methods.

In her State of the City address, Mayor Jones committed to investing $150 million in North St. Louis, emphasizing that economic empowerment, neighborhood transformation, and equitable development are critical to reducing the racial wealth gap in St. Louis. The administration is looking to leverage ARPA funds to magnify their long-term impact after they expire in 2026.
