In St. Louis we value diversity and inclusion; it makes us stronger. We recognize that discrimination is real and many have and still suffer from its impact. I oppose Senate Bill 43 and all legislation that removes protections from discrimination.
St. Louis welcomes millions of visitors annually from all backgrounds, identities and experiences. They enjoy our many cultural institutions, restaurants, parks, and museums. Our visitors, like our residents, are diverse in every way. I invite each of you to visit St. Louis and see for yourself what a welcoming community we are.
Further, I call on local businesses, institutions and organizations to review their internal policies to protect against discrimination and recommit to the importance of those policies on behalf of our citizens and visitors.
