The Personnel Services Section of the Department of Personnel carries out a broad range of diversified functions for all departments within the City of St. Louis system.  

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Table of Organization of the entire City of St. Louis
  • Certification of the highest six (6) names on the eligible lists sent to appointing authorities for interviews
  • Processing transactions affecting the status of employees (e.g., appointments, promotions, resignations, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Administering the service rating system
  • Maintenance of Citywide official personnel files
  • Administering the vacation and sick leave programs
