BI-WEEKLY PAY RATE: $1,280.00
Employees who occupy Construction Equipment Operator I (Trainee) positions shall serve an eleven (11) month working test period. Upon successful completion of the working test period and being granted permanent status, a Construction Equipment Operator I (Trainee) shall receive a title change to Construction Equipment Operator I and receive advancement in their bi-weekly rate of pay to $1,927.00 bi-weekly.
Position Specifications
Incumbents in this position operate a wide variety of equipment of construction projects for city streets, parks and utilities.

Minimum Qualifications
LICENSE: Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) while employed by the City of St. Louis. Candidates that have a CDL permit at the time of hire must obtain a valid CDL (Class A or B) as a condition of successfully completing their working test period. Please note type of license, number, class, expiration date and State where issued on the Employment Application.

Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
MEDICAL: The pre-employment medical exam will include a drug screen and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing will be conducted in accordance with D.O.T. regulations.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of their DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or upon request. The Director of Personnel may, in their discretion, accept alternate documentation.
CITY RESIDENTS PREFERENCE POINTS: City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
