Sandra Harrell
Resident Interview for 1619 N Leffingwell Ave
Sandra Harrell was born on Leffingwell Avenue and remembers moving to Pruitt-Igoe when the towers first opened. Her memories are rich with people, places and colorful experiences. Her family stayed in the neighborhood for a number of years after moving from Pruitt-Igoe in 1967. Sandra became interested in music and performed as a professional back-up singer for a number of successful acts, including Oliver Sain and Ike & Tina Turner.
