The proposed bill would amend Section Nine of Ordinance 67119 which concerns discriminatory practices in employment and the provision of housing and realty to prohibit employers, employment agencies and labor organizations from advertising or otherwise indicate that individuals of a particular age, race, creed, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion or disability are unwelcome, objectionable, not acceptable or not solicited for employment or membership unless otherwise provided herein. The proposed bill would also prohibit landlords, property owners and managers to decline rental applicants on the basis of the applicant being a victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence or stalking, construe incidents of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence or stalking to be a serious or repeated violation of a lease or good cause for termination provided that the victim has complied with the requirements for gaining the protections under RSMo. 455.010, 455.030, 455.030.3, 455.050, terminate the tenancy or occupancy of a victim due to criminal activity related to the domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence or stalking provided that the victim has complied with the requirements for gaining the protections under RSMo. 455.010, 455.030, 455.030.3, 455.050, advertise or otherwise make known the patronage of persons of a particular age, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion or disability are unwelcome, objectionable, not acceptable or not solicited, and authorizes landlords to bifurcate a lease to remove an offender while still allowing the victim to remain an occupant.
