High Demand For COVID-19 Vaccines During Mega Vaccination Clinic 

To date, the Department of Health has administered 26,271 doses and has had no severe adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccines administered.

Response to this week’s mega vaccination clinic on the campus of St. Louis Community College at Forest Park was so great, the City of St. Louis Department of Health, in collaboration with the state of Missouri, administered 6,600 doses of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 (3.468 on March 25, and 3,132 doses on March 26). To date, the City of St. Louis Department of Health has administered 26,271 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and had no severe adverse reactions to the three different vaccines administered. 

“The number of individuals who turned out for this event shows the high demand for COVID-19 vaccine in the City of St. Louis,” says Dr. Fredrick Echols, acting director of health for the City of St. Louis Department of Health. “The Department of Health continues to work with its community partners to bring clinics like these to our community as we work toward a more healthy and equitable community.” 

Several community partners contributed to the success of the two-day event at STLCC-Forest Park. These include the Missouri National Guard, St. Louis University School of Nursing, St. Louis Fire Department, MO-DMAT, Americorps, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Cadets, Webster University School of Nursing, Team Rubicon, and Missouri State Emergency Management Agency, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and St. Louis Community College Forest Park.

Invited individuals had previously registered through the City’s vaccine notification survey registry. For anyone interested in receiving notifications of future clinics, please register on the city’s Vaccine Notification registry. If you previously filled it out and have secured your vaccinations through another agency, you may remove yourself from the list by emailing health@stlouis-mo.gov or calling 314-657-1499.
