Overview
The City of St. Louis Ordinance Number 66264 established the rules for Alarm Registration and False Alarm Management.
Excessive false alarms or non-payment of fees will result in permit suspension and denial of police response to alarm dispatch requests.
The ordinance requires all wireline, wireless, monitored and non-monitored, residential and commercial security alarm systems to be registered with the City of St. Louis.
Preparation
Determine if you alarm is a monitored system or an un-monitored system.
For Monitored alarm system
Your alarm company is required to collect the alarm permit fee and obtain the alarm permit on the Alarm Registration and False Alarm Management (ARFAM) website. The fee is $25.00 for residential and $50.00 for commercial alarm owners. Do not remit a payment to the City of St. Louis for alarm registration if you have a monitored alarm system.
For Non-monitored alarm system
Alarm owners need to download the Alarm Permit Application form and follow the instructions to mail your payment. The fee is $25.00 for residential and $50.00 for commercial alarm.
If you have an non-monitored system complete the alarm permit application form have the following information readily available:
- Owner name
- Address
- Contact information
- Electrical permit information for wired systems
- Name of the alarm company monitoring the system

Register your Alarm System
- Print the Alarm system Registration form
- Complete the form and mail with your registration form and payment to:
City of St. Louis - ARFAM P. O. Box 790106 St. Louis, MO. 63179-0106
You will receive a notice via return mail containing your permit number.

Fees
For Monitored alarm system
- $25.00 permit fee for residential alarm owner
- $50.00 permit fee for commercial alarm owners.
Do not remit a payment to the City of St. Louis for alarm registration if you have a monitored alarm system.
For Non-monitored alarm system
- $25.00 permit fee for residential alarm
- $50.00 permit fee for commercial alarm.

What to Expect
