Christmas tree recycling is offered at Forest Park, O'Fallon Park, and Carondelet Park from December 26-January 9.

Overview
City residents can take their bare Christmas tree to one of three city parks to be recycled December 26th through January 9th.
After January 9th the city will no longer accept Christmas trees for recycling.
If you need to recycle old holiday string lights, there are several places that accept holiday string lights for recycling.
Preparation
- Remove ornaments, tinsel, lights and tree stand.
- Do not discard the tree in a trash bag, plastic tarp or cover it.
- Wreaths and pine roping are not accepted at the sites.
- Do not place Christmas trees in alley dumpsters or recycling containers.
Instructions
Choose one of three self-service drop off locations to take your tree.
Locations
Drop off Christmas trees at any one of these three park locations:
- Forest Park, Lower Muny Opera parking lot (to the right of the Muny, off Theatre drive)
- O'Fallon Park, Recreation Complex, (YMCA) Southwest corner of parking lot
- Carondelet Park, Grand and Holly Hills, area by gate and next to mulch piles (access from Holly Hills Drive)
Confirm hours of operations, as the drop off area is behind the gate:- Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm
- Saturdays, 7am - 2pm
- Sunday, closed
What to Expect
- Trees will be recycled into mulch and made available to City residents at the same sites.
- Trees should NOT be placed in alley dumpsters or recycling containers. However, the Refuse Division will collect them as part of its regular monthly bulk pickup program.
